1993 marked two decades of gaining life experience working in a structural fabrication shop for IAC founder and CEO Richard Black. Starting at ground zero, he worked his way up through the ranks to finally become the General Manager. It was during 1993 that Rich became involved with a colleague who was in the engineering field. Their joint focus was to design an economical elevator which could be factory-built and easily installed. The design included the hoistway shaft for housing the elevator and its' machine. As they became more involved in the research of the product, they became aware of the recent passage of The American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) and what it meant to the elevator industry. Armed with this information they formed Infinite Access Corporation in late 1993 and applied for a utility patent on their product as well as the method of installing it as a fully completed elevator system. Fast forwarding to the present and you will find many changes and advancements. Rich Black has bought out his original partner and is the majority stockholder in IAC. The company has grown to over 65 employees who produce several products, all of which are economical egress/access solutions for buildings. The originally designed elevator was awarded a patent from the United States Patent Office on June 27, 2000. Ironically, Mr. Black had completely abandoned the original elevator and completely redesigned his product to be more conducive to sales and the elevator industry. While none of the current products are 100% complete when shipped, the revolutionary new designs quickly gained a foothold in the industry. Various systems now provide access up to 15 stories. While continuing to offer speed and economy to the construction industry. The IAC family of products now includes all types of elevator systems as well as various other products. Such as pre-fabricated stair towers enclosures, panelized floors, and walls. The company has experienced rapid growth over the past seven years and is expected to double its' size again in the upcoming two years. Stay tuned....
